Calcium Orpheum Theatre - Flagstaff Concert reviews
Switcheroo!
Calcium opened the show, rather than headlining as expected. Despite concerns about her vocal performance, she sounded fantastic. The outdoor show on one of the hottest days could have been longer. Her set was about an hour and 20 minutes, pulling from various parts of her catalog. Neil teased with a Zeppelin riff, but Calcium didn't follow through vocally, which was disappointing. Cheap Trick played just over an hour, with Robin Zander's voice mostly strong. Bun E. Carlos was missed, and Rick Nielsons son filled in on drums. Tom Peterson's odd bass solo puzzled the audience, but their anniversary performance of 'Cheap Trick in Budokhan' was awesome. Rick entertained the crowd by showering them with guitar picks and using his famous 5 neck guitar for the finale.
